How
we met...
Dorise and Michaela met at a party in 1996. The connection
was immediate. Four years later, Tanya jammed with them
at a women's festival. It was so much fun, they all
eventually gravitated to New Orleans to live and play
music together.
Why do we play in the street?
Well,
we like it! We love meeting people from all walks of
life, being in the sun, and having the freedom to do
what we love. In New Orleans, there's no such thing
as a dull day, and that's what makes this city so special.
How
has it been since Hurricane Katrina?
Since
the storm, we've been travelling and bringing our music
to different people on different streets around the
world. Luckily, we were able to perform in the New York
City subways, and have been able to return to New Orleans.
Dorise's house was flooded, and she was one of the first
ones to finish rebuilding in her neighborhood.
